Jessica Quirk Will Finally Squirk A Ladybaby

I guess the headline says it all, but Jessica Quirk, still managing to keep her What I Wore blog limping along, has announced she is indeed squirked up with a tiny female human.

I’m so excited to share some fun news with you! Our growing family is excited to announce we have a baby girl on the way! We are thrilled! This pregnancy has been so different from my first so I had a hunch we’d be adding a daughter to our crew. I even started a baby quilt for her room a few weeks before I knew for sure!

Misusing the word ‘gender’ just like every other blogger who wants a reason to instagram a pink or blue cake, Messica makes sure we know Squirk 1.0 is thrilled about being dethroned by the long awaited Mini-Messi.

We’ve had a name picked out since before our first was born, so now we just need to narrow down a middle name. Knowing her gender has done a lot for me and pregnancy bonding and it’s so fun to say ‘she’ and to prep Felix for his little sister. Last night in his sleep he reached over to my stomach and said BABY!

Sure. Why not.

Anyway, I’m sure 99% of you don’t give a toss about Messica’s uterine contents but I think we can all agree poor Kins needed to stop being at the top of the page. So just pretend this is ‘news’ and then feel free to comment ‘who?’ and ‘no1curr’ so poor Fat Naked Baby can fade from top post.

What I Wore Announces Squirk 2.0

Jessica Quirk, I guess she’s still blogging or something, has finally admitted that she is pregnant again after everyone on GOMIBLOG knew for like 2 months.

… I’m pregnant! I thought I’d do some big post to announce but I haven’t really had a bump until this morning! It’s kind of weird how it works in the early days…The early days were so rough on me. Much more difficult than my pregnancy with Felix…which some of you have probably guessed by my lack of summertime posts!

She says it’s “strange to keep such a big secret for so long” even though pretty much every single person who follows her blog at all has known she was resquirked since oh, May. I’ll never understand why these people who live their entire lives publicly – and leave a detailed trail of their changing shape and fashion choices and attempts to skinny app on the internet – think they are able to contain such secrets. But sure, ok. Big secret.

Anyway, I’m sure we are all looking forward to round two of Messica’s condescending decrees about how to treat a human broodmare and her increased whining about being a mom of two as if she is the first woman to ever have two children under three years old.

What I Wore Doesn’t Creative For You

Jessica Quirk, vacationer, has started a series called “52 Thoughts” which is apparently her way of inserting complaints about her hard, hard life into her “personal style blog”. This week we are treated to Messica’s feels about how hard it is for her to be A Creative in the cruel arena of the public eye. Evidently she read Big Magic on her 90293035th vacation this year and she’s decided she doesn’t care if you like her work anymore.

It’s not my job to please the masses when I get dressed…and it’s also not my job to try to cater to each and every person that reads my blog…It’s also not my job to cater to the people that do like what I’m doing. It’s my job to express myself and to be creative in a way that enriches my life, that enriches my self esteem and ultimately helps me grow in my writing, my art, and as a person.

Saying she feels like “a scared cat trapped in a box while kids throw stones at me” Messica reveals she has been “putting up brick walls because I’m afraid of the feedback”. She concludes by saying she needs to “find satisfaction outside of an online yay or nay”.

A Friday News Dump

I’m kind of busy lately so here’s some little news bits I never got around to posting the past couple of weeks.

Amber Venz, RStyle queen, finally gave birth to her daughter. She and husband Baxter Box chose the name Birdie. Birdie Box. She’s enjoying her postpartum leave by taking little Birdie Box for walks in outfits like this. Ok then. And if you’re into nursery decor you’ll be thrilled to know she went with the GOMIBLOG Forums favorite color scheme of grey and white (combined with what looks like some sort of mintish color on the walls).

Young House Love is selling artwork on Society6 now in case you want some of their amazing paint skills in your life.

Snappy Casual decided it was too hard to pick up her house and also entertain a child and evidently wants internet headpats for this decision.

What I Wore is busy cementing her place as queen bee of her husband’s booze factory by putting on various events.

Socality Barbie announced her retirement and the internet crapped its pants.

And finally, a bunch of supposed internet celebs are going on Season 28 of ‘The Amazing Race’ and pretty much nobody cares.

Feel free to add any other newsie bits that I missed!

Jessica Quirk Is A Reality Show Star

Jessica Quirk, wears stuff, wants people to know she wears the same things over and over because she is super real. Saying “Yea, I wore the dress last week and I like it, so I’m wearing it again!” she then proceeded to rant about how blogland kind of sucks nowdays.

I’ve been a little disenchanted with the blogging world lately with all of it’s perfection. The outfits have become astronimically expensive and disposable. I don’t have the budget or desire to wear things once. Sure, I have a dozen designer pieces I’ve invested in, but I’ll wear the same $25 dress on repeat too.

That’s right – Messica owns tons of designer stuff, ok? All those other bloggers wear free designer stuff like Messica used to, but not Ms. Quirk. She no longer has the money for care/of Oscar de la Renta. She’s keeping it real now because she’s starring in her “own little real reality show”. Too bad nobody’s tuning in anymore.

What I Wore Wants You To Focus On What Mom Needs

Jessica Quirk, had a baby, continues the grand tradition of bloggers who want to remind you of all the things you should do for a new mom. In a post titled “10 Ways To Help A New Mom”, Messica lists her expectations of those around her.

Saying “Gifts for baby are great, but gifts for mom (and dad!) are even better” she goes on to tell potential well-wishers that fresh fruits and veggies are preferable to heat and eat dishes, and basically says thank you notes should never be expected.

She also tells visitors that instead of holding the baby or having a chat, they should perform some chores.

Mom doesn’t need you to hold the baby so she can vacuum or do a load of laundry. She needs you to vacuum and do the laundry so she can hold her baby. Period…Other chores might be to take the trash to the curb, take out the kitty litter, take the dog on a walk, shovel the walk (in the winter), rake leaves (in the fall) or water the plants (in the spring/summer).

Messica’s recommended to-do list for visitors is not limited to those close to the family, either.

If you’re a neighbor you could also help by bringing the newspaper or mail up closer to the front door!

And she includes another reminder to stop hogging the baby when he’s happy, because that’s HER time.

I also remember feeling like Felix would get held during all of his “good” moments and then feeding/changing time would creep up and I’d have to jump in again when I really just wanted to cuddle and spend time with my baby when he wasn’t crying.

Ya know, I get being a new mom is hard, and triply so after a c-section. But Messica has an able bodied husband. It’s not like it’s all going to go to hole unless the entire neighborhood drops what they’re doing and mows the lawn. And bring the mail up to the door??? Does she live out on Rural Route BFE where the mailbox is a mile walk each way or something? Why can’t her husband bring the mail in?

And seriously, demanding people only bring you food items that help you adhere to your Whole 30 Paleo Whatever is kind of entitled. Maybe Old Widow Soandso brings new moms c/o noodle caboodle because that’s what people did in her day. Is it so hard to smile, say thank you, let someone hold the new life for a few minutes, toss the offending casserole when they leave, and just say later that it was delicious whether you ate a bite or not?

It’s like bloggers expect to be excused of all basic manners and courtesy for others because they reproduced. Cmon son. Get a grip.
